Fred Bollen is the director of LifetecVision.
At DSM, he gained experience in product development, especially in the market introduction of newly developped products as a Business development manager / Product manager for pharma-intermediates, plastics, elastomers and industrial fibers. He also headed a project team of 25 people. This team developped a new fiber for elastomer reinforcements and built a pilot plant for the market introduction of a new fiber at launching customers.
In addition, he worked as Marketing director, was a member of the management team of the elastomers group of DSM and acted as Business intelligence manager. For instance, his task was to identify the synergy that could be obtained by the integration of existing business and newly to be acquired products from competition. In 2001 he became Sector manager for Life Sciences in Limburg in The Netherlands at Industriebank LIOF. As chairman of LifetecZONe and coordinator of the conference Biomedica and chair of the foundation Biomedica, he now has a huge network in the Life Sciences, biotechnology and medical technology in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
He was for some time Interim director of Biomedbooster, the technology transfer office
of the University of Maastricht. He earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology at the Free University of Amsterdam in 1982.
